Looks like a 42... but it doesn't have a latch. How did you come by it? And is there any indication that the latch got broken off on the bite handle?

WTF!!! Someone's MOM MACHINED off the only part of the knife that is remotely SAFE??? Anyway, it's from the 80's? I'll do some snoopin'. And plus if you get something for free it's already making you a profit :D

EDIT: Yeah, from the look of the blade style and the ends of the handles it looks like a 42. Wait for a second opinion though. ;)

EDIT again: Maybe 45... because there aren't any holes where the screw would be on a 42 to hold the latch. All the 42's have that screw.

Funny how bare naked it looks without a latch, huh?

Looks like a 42, but take a gander at the pivot pins. I'd say what you've got there is a model 45?

Found a pic that's similar:

What does the tang stamp say? is it a benchmade, pcc, or a balisong inc custom? The blade reminds me of a balisong inc. Its thick and looks hand ground. Also, though the 45 was a weehawk with hidden pins, this doesn't look anything like a 45 to me. I'm probably wrong though.

i thought the swedge on the 45's was much farther down the blade toward the tip?

It is similar in design to a 45, because the pins are hidden, ground flush with the handles. As others have noted the swedge on a 45 is shorter, so my guess is that DOA is correct in saying that it is from the 80s, which I believe would make it a Pacific Cutlery.

Definitely pre-BM. The horns are round as hell... Almost looks to be a CCC copy.
