problems catching scissors

Ok so I'm trying to piece together a couple moves with a nice aerial out of a full twirl catch with a scissor into a partial full twirl aerial to close but for the life of me i cant catch the scissor

Note: i can catch the aerial regularly just fine 99 percent of the time out of the twirl yet the moment i stick just those two fingers out everything goes wrong.

Any advice on catching this more fluently/easily?

Anything will help at this point

Re: problems catching scissors

start practicing the catch for a regular aerial with just your thumb and pointer (pointer under the handle) then once you have that down move to catching it with just your index once you have that down catch with your index and as soon as you catch put your middle finger on top and twirl

also post a vid if you can so we can see what youre doing wrong

Re: problems catching scissors

Let the knife land on just one finger and then use your middle finger to close, make sure you middle finger it out of the way. I usually do a circular motion to help with timing.
