Setting up a match?

Can someone please explain to me how you would go about setting up a match. Plus, all the wierd terms you guys use, like, "Blinds", wtf is that? lol

If someone could say, give me an example, and then explain everything in that example, that would be awesome. See, I want to compete here and have fun and crap, but its hard to have fun when you have no idea whats going on. thank you,
