Van Gogh tutorial.

hey Loosey...i finally got the tutorial done.
Hope you guys enjoy it, might be a bit boring for people who already know the move well...but i wanted to cover all the bases for people who don't know it yet.

the funny part is that in the first 4 clips i was extremely drunk and even passed out during the filming of it.
i got a clip on tape and stopped to watch it real quick to see if everything was in frame and ended up passing out.

Let me know what you guys think of the variations on the van gogh that i added at the end of the vid.

Re: Van Gogh tutorial.

thanks, glad you guys liked it...it can be a bit intimidating doing a tutorial for someone elses move, when they are of such a high caliber and they are on the forum as well.

@slash..thanks man...van goghs name is a tricky one...i just pronounce it the way i do because i'm in the u.s. just as it's pronounced differently in the uk and scotland.

i guess to get technical..the correct pronunciation of his full name would sound nothing like the way you think it would, especially if you are american.

to me the correct pronunciation of his full name sounds like Finchent fun ghauhchh

That is a very cool tutorial. The variations at the end are sick! My wife wanted me to replay the growl like 3 times!

Yeah the growl was cool! Nice tutorial. That's a hard one to explain/teach.
The reverse is awesome! :TU:

Re: Van Gogh tutorial.

subtle demon face after effect eh.... that sir was far from subtle......

I really liked watching this tut. van gogh is one of the few tricks of looseys that i can pull off consistantly. The most difficult thing i had to overcome while learning was to fight the urge to throw the thing away from the face. Gotta fight the fear. My main problem was throwing it slightly too short so i had to bend over a little bit to catch it. You covered that very well with the point a point b thing. Also i always make a stupid face with my eyeballs trying to look out the backs of their sockets. :D I really like those variations, especially the reversed ones thrown from the back. Props vince on one of the best and most unique bali tuts out there :TU:

An props to loosey for being an evil bastard

Re: Van Gogh tutorial.

when I create a trick I challenge myself and my ability to make split second timing, to have no fear of being cut, and to create a trick that has decent transition factor.

If you want to try something fun...

do a van gogh, to meatgrinder, to ots palmspin ... try and treat it as one trick.

if you do it correctly the palm spin ends up in your left hand and try and get as many palm rotations as possible.

talk about three things that look crazy transitioned.

Re: Van Gogh tutorial.

dude, that was fuckin awesome. way to represent. mucho respekt sir.
im the type of person that gets really pissed off by the tiny details when i see a trick done just slightly off, especially when it was someone i know that invented said trick.
and the reverse van gogh same hand catch will be getting a work out with me i think..... :D awesome work.
