request: double edge tutorial

Just was wondering if someone could make a double edge tutorial. Anything is fine, maybe nice to figure out how to do some stuff, instead of stare at my knife all day thinking man, how do you flip?? :D:D:D :TU: :TU: :pirate_sail: Obviously you wouldn't want to do ricochets.. I guess I just want to see some vids of people throwin down their DE balis

Thanks, and respect.

Re: request: double edge tutorial

If you were for real, I would seriously consider it, but I don't have a BM 46. I have 2 CS AA 96BSD's but I ain't parting with em'.. they were hard enough to get as is. Is this just something I'm probably gonna have to figure out on my own?

Re: request: double edge tutorial

I think 46's are not double edged, one edge is dull.
most tricks are doable with a double edged blade, just no ricochets, more than one finger roll(charlie chaplin roll), or spinetapping

Re: request: double edge tutorial

Yeah the 46's are just a spear point with one side dull, from the factory. I've heard it's possible to sharpen the other side without ruining the HT. What is spine tapping? Some sort of medical procedure? ;) I asked cutlerylover for a tuto as well. I've heard you have to "zen" it too, which I guess means to just move your wrist and fingers with the momentum.

Re: request: double edge tutorial

spine tapping is pushing the dull side of the blade to change the direction of the spin

Re: request: double edge tutorial

yeah, you can sharpen the spine of a 46. ive never gotten to play with a true double edge, but i can manage to zen most stuff with a little practice, so it shouldnt be to hard.i find you just need to follow thru with your body more-so than usual. just stay away from chaplins. i was flipping tired the other week and chaplined with the bite handle of my 47......

a couple days ago i was trying aerials tired and got the palm of my hand when i messed up catching it. i was sitting on the couch and i didnt throw it high enough and the safe handle hit the couch and the blade popped up and stabbed my hand.

and yeah some tuts on a double edger would be great. it would be cool to use a double edger to show off with :D

Re: request: double edge tutorial

Yeh, it's no biggie. I'm trying to bite off more than I can chew I think anyway, I gotta get used to the single edges first. But then again, maybe not. It's gonna be a steep learning curve I think, like moving to linux from winblows ;)
